To those other Orlando brothers and sisters that are no longer with us, yet to be named. To those wounded and traumatized.

To our brothers and sisters hang by the neck to die, strangled, defenestrated, stoned to death, ripped to shreds, burned at the stake, set on fire in their own house, shot by pistol or rifle, cut by knife, bashed with a crowbar, flagellated, beaten by fists and kicked by boots, spat on, raped for sickly lust, raped again for punishment, penetrated by objects, castrated, lobotomized, jailed, sent off to cure the gay away, given a pink triangle, labelled as a sexual offender, ostracized, exiled, ignored, denied medical aid, denied legal aid, denied humane behavior, denied the right to be happy.

I'm adressing the countries that allow these things to happen. There are TOO MANY OF THOSE.

This short film shows what happens in one of those countries. For those who deal better with their heartbreak by adding more heartbreak:

I'm adressing the religions that place the axe in the hand of the executioner. There are TOO MANY OF THOSE TOO. They say that God is love. I ask them: WHAT MORE IN THE NAME OF LOVE?

  1. I was depressed all day Sunday when I woke to the news. I still am. Lots of talk about gun control, not so much about homophobia, probably because if you fall into that category for whatever bullshit reason you have, then that makes you part of the problem. I think this won't get us anywhere as far as the gun debate goes. After Sandy Hook and the inaction that followed, we as a country pretty much decided we were okay with murdering children over stricter gun laws. I'm sure this will blow over as so many other horrific tragedies have but then again, it's an election year and just what the politicians crave to advance their agendas.

    And the seasons
    They go round and round
    And the painted ponies
    Go up and down
We're captive on a carousel of time.
    We can't return
    We can only look
    Behind from where we came
And go round and round and round
    In the circle game.

    1. I'm afraid that I share your pessimism, RM! The US was founded with the perception that gun possession is a valuable citizen's right. Also NRA is just too strong.

Joni's Circle Game is such an appropriate song for the occasion. Thanks for sharing!
