Oscar Eligible Songs

This year, the announcement of the Oscar nominations will take place on Tuesday morning (US time). Which means we're getting very near the end, which means we'll devote today's presentation to more Oscar Eligible Songs.

From They Will Have to Kill Us First - Malian Music in Exile here's Petit Metier, performed by Songhoy Blues:

Four songs are eligible from What Happened Last Night. My favorite of those is What's Happening Today, performed by Latchkey:

Also performed by Latchkey, New Dogs, Old Tricks:

Who I Am is written and performed by Frankie Zingaropoli (AKA Frankie Zing):

Finally from this film, Runnin’ Runnin’ by The 5 AM is not available on YouTube.

Here's Sia (again!) with Angel by the Wings, from The Eagle Huntress. Is this the third or fourth Oscar eligible song by Sia? I've lost count.

Here's Gary Clark Jr with Take Me Down, from Deepwater Horizon:

Here's Robert Glasper with Gone 2015, from Miles Ahead:

Here's Foy Vance feat. Kacey Musgraves with Moonshine, from Live by Night:

From Landfill Harmonic, here's Mariana Barreto performing Cateura Vamos a SoƱar (We Will Dream):

Here are a couple of eligible songs from The Little Prince. First, here's Camille and Hans Zimmer performing Equation:

Here's Camille once again with Turnaround:

Finally for today, from Swiss Army Man, here are Andy Hull and Robert McDowell (feat Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe) performing Montage:

More to come until the announcement. Unless you've had enough. Let me know.

  1. We're almost done with our Oscar predictions. Today the category in question is Best Production Design. My picks for the five are: La La Land, Jackie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Silence, and Arrival. Also fighting for a place in the five are The Jungle Book, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Hail, Caesar!, The Handmaiden, and Hidden Figures.
