Hello, my friends, old and new! It's the middle of the summer and I don't feel like being cooped up to do research and write a few thousand words, like most of you who don't feel like reading long stories right now, you and I would rather be swimming or something. However: I have recently come across a very interesting list of songs, celebrating the 60 years anniversary of the American Hot 100 of pop hits, as published by Billboard magazine. I think you'll enjoy listening to these songs that cover every single genre that was in fashion during all these years. Okay, this time around there are three songs I'm not familiar with - Akon, Bieber and OMI who I've never even heard of. And I actually quite like that Cheerleader tune. I'm a little surprised to see Johnny Angel since most songs in that era tended to have short chart lives. Viva les Oldies!
ReplyDeleteViva les Oldies, RM! Justin Bieber is to the millennials what David Cassidy used to be to the tweens at the 70s he's been ubiquitous for a number of years. Bieber and Drake are Canada's most successful exports in the current international pop scene.
