Oscar Eligible Songs & This Week's Statistics

Since we're only 8 days away from the announcement of the Oscar nominations, and since the previous pertinent posts were successful, I thought that we could let the Dylan countdown rest for a couple of weeks and try to present all of the Oscar eligible songs instead. Here we go!

Now, let's move on to the weekly statistics. This week, after the excitement of the past few weeks, things have settled down; this week's visits are more or less the same as last week's. The death of Larry Steinbachek, the keyboard player of Bronski Beat, brought a small increase in traffic for the Bronski Beat entry, but it was in no way comparable to what happened with George Michael, whose entry, by the way, has been the most visited by far for this week too.

The big winner of the week were primarily the United States, and secondarily Canada and Belgium. Cyprus, did rather well too.

The full Top 10 is as follows:

1. the United States
2. Germany
3. France
4. Greece
5. the United Kingdom
6. Cyprus
7. Italy
8. the United Arab Emirates
9. Canada
10. Belgium

Here are the other countries that graced us with their presence this week (alphabetically): Andorra, Antigua & Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Colombia, Côte d'Ivoire, Croatia, Curaçao, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, Guadeloupe, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Palestine, Paraguay, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Reunion, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Togo, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, Ukraine, Venezuela, Happy to have you all!

In the all-time Top 10, everybody held on to their positions. Nobody seems to be in danger of losing their place, for the moment. Still, Brazil needs to visit more often in order to be safe: Top 10 veterans Cyprus and Canada are not far behind. Here's the all-time Top 10:

1. the United States = 47.8%
2. Greece = 10.1%
3. Germany = 8.3%
4. France = 7.3%
5. Russia = 5.7%
6. the United Kingdom = 3.3%
7. Italy = 1.18%
8. the United Arab Emirates = 1.10%
9. the Netherlands = 0.78%
10. Brazil = 0.74%

That's all for today, folks. Till the next one!

1 comment:

  1. Today's Oscar predictions concern the most important category; that of Best Picture. The number of possible nominees fluctuate from 5 to 10. In the last few years they are 8 or 9. We shall originally presume that there will be ten, even though there will probably be less. Here are the 10 most possible nominees: La La Land, Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea, Arrival, Lion, Hell or High Water, Hidden Figures, Hacksaw Ridge, Fences, and Loving. Other possible nominees: Nocturnal Animals, Deadpool, Jackie, The Jungle Book, and 20th Century Women.
