The Motown Top 250 Countdown (#20-01) & This Week's Statistics

Hello, my friends, old and new! We have finally reached the end of our Motown countdown. Let me remind you that four people voted for this list: I selected 200 songs, Effie gave us her top 100, Alan voted for 60 songs, and Joanna offered her top 20. Every one of us had a different #1 but the top 8 songs were given votes by all four of us. Then the songs at positions 9-18 were voted by three out of four voters, while the bottom two were seriously loved by two of us and ignored by the other two. Personally, I'm very happy with the top 20. Enough talk, let's get on with it!

Now, let's continue with our statistics; there was a 27% rise in the number of visits compared to last week, which was good. The two stories that carried the week were my thoughts (in songs) from last Sunday, as well as an older story that gained a lot of interest because of a sad event: Pete Shelley's premature death at 63, made the Buzzcocks - Magazine - Pete Shelley story the most popular of the week.

As far as countries are concerned, the United States, Russia, Australia, Romania, and Ukraine were this week's winners, France, Italy, and Cyprus, suffered losses, while the United Kingdom, Greece, Canada, and Germany kept their percentages steady.

Here are this week's Top 10 countries:

1. the United States
2. Russia
3. the United Kingdom
4. Australia
5. Greece
6. Romania
7. Canada
8. Ukraine
9. Germany
10. France

Here are the other countries that graced us with their presence since our last statistics (alphabetically): Algeria, Angola, Argentina, Austria, the Bahamas, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cayman Islands, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Dutch Caribbean (Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba), Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Finland, FYR Of Macedonia, Georgia, Ghana, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Lesotho, Libya, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar (Burma), the Netherlands, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Peru, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Réunion, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, the United Arab Emirates, Venezuela, and Vietnam. Happy to have you all!

And here's the all-time Top 10:

2. France = 17.7%
3. the United Kingdom = 11.5%
4. Greece = 8.3%
5. Russia = 2.6%
6. Canada = 1.9%
7. Germany = 1.8%

  2. What a journey in the past! I agree with Alan that "there isn't any chance these guys would ever be forgotten". And all that process to forming the countdown has strongly indicated that!
