The Billboard Top 600 Hits of the last 60 years (#600-581)

Hello, my friends, old and new! You may have noticed that lately, I don't write a new story during the week. It's the middle of the summer and I don't feel like being cooped up to do research and write a few thousand words, like most of you who don't feel like reading long stories right now, you and I would rather be swimming or something. However: I have recently come across a very interesting list of songs, celebrating the 60 years anniversary of the American Hot 100 of pop hits, as published by Billboard magazine. I think you'll enjoy listening to these songs that cover every single genre that was in fashion during all these years. I'm thinking of just presenting the songs with as few words as possible, just the necessary info. This way I can post regularly, perhaps even every day.

  1. This should be fun though I fear the upper reaches of this countdown will be a logjam of songs from 2000 and on considering how long songs stay on the charts these days as well as occupy the top spot. I'm looking at you Despacito! I figured there'd be songs I don't know and sure enough, I do not remember that Bon Jovi song. Of course, I had pretty much given up radio by this point and MTV was transitioning out of the music video biz.
Anyways, I hope you're enjoying the lazy days of summer John and till the next post, Zigga Zig Ah!

    1. I'm seriously happy that you're following this, my friend! You'll be surprised to learn that in the Top 5 there's only one 21st Century song - and - spolier alert - it's not Despacito. I'm back on a more or less daily mode - and I'm happy to have you along for the ride. Aloha!
